On Tuesday I posted the top selling toys of 2007 (so far, anyway).

If you’re in the eBay business, and you sell toys (or you want to), then knowing what’s popular is important.

However, as I mentioned Tuesday, that’s not the entire story in determining what’s going to be profitable. After all, some of those products are going to have plenty of stock to satisfy the demand.

So today I want to give you some insight into what are shaping up to be some of the hardest to find toys of 2007 - while these tend to be popular products, the demand for these is well ahead of the supply, hence you are far more likely to get a premium price on eBay.

Little Einstein’s Pat Pat Rocket

Nintendo Wii (for the second year in a row)

Several Transformers Action Figures

Rare & Very Rare U.B. Funkeys

Baby Alive Wets & Wiggles Boy (not girls)

And now it’s time for me to let the cat out of the bag. That’s not the entire list. Those are some of the bigger ones this year, but there are plenty of others. In fact, this holiday season is shaping up to have fewer of the toys that everyone wants (like TMX Elmo last year) and far more of the “sleeper” hits that in reality are much better for the eBayer since those items almost always sell for 2x to 3x the price you’ll pay in the store.

I’ve been spending hours upon hours researching which items are going to be the most profitable for us eBay folks to buy and resell this year, and I’ve got a nice little list to work with. I’ll be using this list to get a few items myself, but here’s the cool part: I’m willing to share it with you.

Yep, you’ll get my entire shopping list with every “sleeper” included.

There are a lot of other eBay sellers who are going to be pretty ticked off that I’m revealing their secret items of the year, but I look at it like this: there’s no way I can cover every store in America so I’m not going to be hurt by revealing every last product to you.

So if making and extra $2,000-$5,500 this holiday season sounds good to you, then you’ll definitely want to join me on November 19th and 9:00 PM EST for a special training teleseminar when I’ll not only reveal the entire list, I’ll give you a big bag of tips you can use to find these items.

But you do need to register for the event, and space is limited, so please get signed up for this call ASAP. I’ve setup a special site for you to sign up at: www.hotholidayproducts.com

You’re gonna love it. I’ll see ya there.

Part of the equation to making money with toys during the holiday season (late November until Christmas) is getting your hands on the products that kids want.

And every year the most popular products change. Last year some of the most popular products were the Nintendo Wii and the TMX Elmo.

This year you’ll see some familiar faces (a new Elmo) and plenty of newcomers to the party.

So here are the top 10 most popular items

EyeClops Bionic Eye (Jakks)

Webkinz Reindeer (Ganz)

TMX eXtra Special Edition Elmo (Fisher Price)

Musical Tea Set (Fisher Price)

FurReal Friends Squawkers McCaw Parrot (Hasbro)

Transformers Ultimate Bumblebee Figure (Hasbro)

Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition (Hasbro)

Illustory Make Your Own Story Kit (Creations By You)

Littlest Pet Shop Round & Round Pet Town (Hasbro)

Kid Tough Digital Camera - Pink (Fisher Price)

Other popular items include: Fisher Price Smart Cycle, The Leapfrog Clickstart, the Magnetx I-Coaster, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader, and of course, the Nintendo Wii (again).

Of course, just because something is popular doesn’t mean it’s a guaranteed profitable item on eBay. Some will be - some won’t. It all depends on if the toy company produced enough for the demand of the product.

I’ll talk more about that tomorrow with a discussion of the top “hard to find” items of the 2007 holiday season.

See ya tomorrow.

Update: If you really want to learn exactly what you need to know to profit from the Hot Holiday Toys this year, then be sure to get registered for my upcoming teleseminar at http:www.hotholidayproducts.com/

I’m going to be doing a week long series of posts on selling on eBay during the holiday season (and I’ll have a big announcement to help you with this soon).

Last year it was pretty clear what one of the hardest items of the holiday season was going to be - it was the PS3 and the prices on eBay reflected it.

This year, however, it’s not quite as clear. The Nintendo Wii has been out for almost a year now, but you still can’t buy them in stores. According to Nintendo, supplies are going to continue to be short during the holiday season, so that begs the question:

Is The Nintendo Wii the Playstation 3 of 2006?

To answer that question we need only consult eBay’s completed items listings to find out.

A typical listing for the Nintendo Wii as of November 12th 2007 will reveal that typically sells for about $310 if it’s just the console.

If you can find one in the stores, you’ll pay $250 + tax.

So while prices are actually likely to increase once we hit the big holiday season push, it’s still no where near the profit margin commanded by the PS3 last year - or even the Wii’s own numbers of last year.

However, there are other very popular products out there you may not have heard of (especially if you don’t have kids) that may fit the bill.

Stay tuned for another post tomorrow when I’ll cover the most popular items this holiday season.

If you’ve been reading my articles and training materials, you know that I’m a huge fan of going to auctions to get items on eBay. Part of it is that it’s just a lot of fun. It can be a little intimidating the first time you go, but once you’ve been to a few auctions, you won’t be intimidated at all.

It used to be that when I was looking for good auctions to go to, that I’d target auctions in small towns, the thinking being was that since the towns have less people and that since small town people have a reputation for being frugal, that there’d be plenty of deals to be had.

Well, as it turns out, I was wrong - completely wrong.
